We're looking for newer, coachable personal trainers who want to be part of a high-performing team.

KING TRAINER RESPONSIBILITIES

As a KING trainer, you’ll provide expert coaching across group training, semi-private, and private personal training - all based on the principles of strength/resistance training. ​

​Your main responsibilities include:
​
  • Leading high-quality, engaging group training where you are executing the gym’s programming.
  • Programming for and conducting effective personal training sessions (both 1-1 private and/or small group semi-private), while progressing and retaining your clients.
  • Participating in regular team meetings and occasional 1-on-1 meetings, while staying responsive to daily updates.
  • Improving your skills & knowledge through monthly, relevant continuing education.

In no particular order yet...

1: If you miss the warm-up, you miss the entire workout.

2: Work hard and be nice to people.

3: When you're done using your equipment, return it to its home.

4: Ego is the enemy. When in doubt, lower your weight or ask your neighbor for a spot.

5: Sweat is not an indicator of a useful workout. Neither are pain or soreness.

6: We aren't doing cardio (usually), so follow the prescribed tempos when you train if you want results others have been getting for years.

7: We really love and adore your kids & dogs, so please clean up after them if they come with you to the gym.

8: Jersey club music can only be requested on Saturdays.

9: If you are on the waitlist, that does not mean you are registered for class.

10: Consistency is King.

App Issue: Being Repeatedly Logged Out

We've been hearing from a number of you, and experiencing ourselves, that our app is logging us out intermittently.

I called our app's support team and it turns out this is a known issue as of their last update on 3/23/22 and they're expecting a fix today or tomorrow.

For now please bear with it and we're all looking forward to it being solved, as it's annoying for both you and us.

UPDATE 4/1/22:

The app developer has released a software fix that is supposed to address a variety of issues. Make sure your app is up to date in your App Store, and then you can also follow the steps on our blog post here (link opens in new page) to clear your app cache.

As of 2/1/2022 we're using a newer, improved app for the gym. You'll need current billing information including your preferred credit card in order to continue booking classes! (Even for clients with the paid-in-full membership the information is needed in case of missed reservations, no-shows, etc.)

When the weather outside is frightful - inclement weather procedures

When weather conditions get hazardous, please note the following:
  • If the gyms need to close or otherwise change their hours, we'll send word as soon as possible over our text message system. We will also post these updates across as many channels as possible such as social media (Instagram, Facebook) and the gym app.
  • If outside conditions are wet or snowy or otherwise not dry: bring a change of clean indoor trainers to change into at the gym so that we can keep the flooring as dry and usable as possible for us all.
  • Late cancellation or class/PT no-show fees: These fees will never be assessed if we change the gym classes/hours due to weather or emergency.
  • Virtual training / continuity of your training: As much as possible, we encourage you to stay consistent in your training habits by training at home with whatever you have available. When schedules and timing allow we may add Virtual Training classes to the schedule which you can tune into using any device with an internet connection - this would usually be included in the same inclement weather update.
  • If you are coming to class/training or even just going outside of home when conditions are hazardous: Pack emergency supplies including water and non-perishable snacks, make sure your cellphone stays charged, wear clothing sufficient for conditions. This may sound silly until something unexpected happens, Rob personally suggests keeping an emergency kit in your car at all times for safety anyway - see this surprisingly useful resource from the government or this link about building a personal "bolt bag".

Check in with us via text message to the gym phone number and/or our DMs.
** If you are an active client and have NOT received any text messages from our gym phone #s, please speak to Gerrick or Rob directly so we can add you to our text message system. **
