Starting Monday, January 10, 2022, KING Strength Metuchen will finally be open to the public. Read on below for details about our initial class times, parking, how personal training will work, etc.

Our initial class times for January 2022 have been set based on the availability of our Founding Members as well as the most commonly requested times. As the gym grows and circumstances change we are likely to adjust, add, or remove times so we can maintain both a minimum class attendance as well as the best possible class experience.

The Metuchen gym's address is 65 Pearl St, Metuchen, NJ 08840 (google link here). Parking is available either on the street (metered) or more easily in the public parking lot located across the street at 54 Pearl St.

Checking in to class

All sessions at KING Strength require preregistration through our apps. Trainers will check you in upon arrival - and we will soon have a scanner set up so you can scan yourself in. This system will be how we take class attendance and also how no-show fees are assessed for anyone who registers for a session and does not show up for it.

what to bring

Nothing out of the ordinary here, just notice a few details.
  • Change of shoes from outside to inside, especially whenever it gets wet. This will help keep the facility as dry and usable as possible given that we often use floor space for warm-ups and exercises.
  • Your own water and bottle: a water line is in the process of being installed so we'll have unlimited drinking water soon.
  • Comfortable clothing and shoes to move around in: we have 2 bathrooms available we do not have showers.

Personal Training (both 1-1 and semiprivate)

Personal training of both types (1-1 private, and semiprivate) will be available immediately upon appointment, as at KING Cranford. For those with an active personal training membership, we're in the midst of finalizing availabilities and timings.

Personal training is most suited for you if you have specific goals outside of what you'll cover in Group Training classes, such as races, endurance events, aesthetic goals, etc. If you're curious about how we handle it, take a look at the differences between the 2 types we offer here - and let us know what questions you have.
Semiprivate training memberships are changing starting with all new memberships and will now feature the following:
  • Initial Consultation: Personalized assessment where we'll discuss specific goals, lifestyle habits, availability; then take a deep dive into current movement and abilities. Based on this consultation your trainer can then create a training plan most suited to the attainment of your goals.
  • Pricing: A single price of $289/month now includes however many training sessions per week you may want or need in order to progress your goals - whether that's 1 session per week or 6. Semiprivate training includes a thorough initial individualized assessment, personalized training plan delivered digitally via TrainHeroic, unlimited support via TrainHeroic mobile app, functionally-unlimited gym access with floor coaching (constrained only by availability of Guided Open Gym time slot hours). Note that semiprivate training by default does NOT include access to Group Training/classes unless otherwise discussed and it fits your training goals. For most up-to-date pricing for any memberships, see our Memberships page here.
  • Trainer Presence: In your initial assessment we'll cover several overall ways that your training will actually take place. Your training starts with your trainer walking you through the elements of your personalized training plan: movements, equipment, rest, timing, etc. From there you'll have the ability to directly book training time slots using our app - these will be listed as Guided Open Gym and are each overseen by one of our trainers.
  • Existing semiprivate memberships are unchanged as of yet and individual discussions for what changes if any to make are proceeding at trainer and trainee discretion.
